Daily blog - don't get too submerged in development
It's been over a week since my testers provided their feedback for changes, and I've busily beavered away at implementing them and making a better experience. However, those in the know, those with experience under their belt, tell us Indies that this is a Bad Idea. Not refining the experience, but getting so caught up in trying to be perfect that the world has no idea what you're doing.
There are two reasons why this is the wrong course of action. The first, that development can be lonely work where, like any long-term creative endeavour, you will find yourself hitting an emotional wall every now and again and wondering is this is the right thing to do. Feedback from others, even a few likes on a Tweet, helps keep you going. The second, that you are (probably) creating something for others to enjoy and need feedback to shape it. Spending a few days prototyping an unwanted feature is time wasted.
I could have done with at least one interim Beta release. Now I'm eager to upgrade the graphics but will ensure I release my changes first.
