Daily - filling in store details. Oh, and a name change. ;)
First up, let me official announce novaWARS is now ionAXXIA! The brand conflict started in July hasn't been officially resolved because the company involved isn't communicating at all, but I'm taking this opportunity to take a different approach to branding. Google 'ionaxxia' and see what you find. ;)
Secondly, the game is ready for release and just needs 'paperwork' to be sorted. Today has been spent filling in Steam's store listing. It's a time consuming job as one wants to get the language just right, and of course there's no point pushing the 'mobile arcade gaming' angle on a platform focussed on 80 million desktop PC users. Also, it's pretty bonkers how every website wants different sized content! From YouTube banners to IndeDB icons to Steam capsule images to Android promotional artwork, no two places what the same sized content.
What does feel nice is being back into a communicative position. When deep in coding, broadcasting stops. Now I can 'surface' above the water and talk about what's happened the past month and where ionAXXIA is in terms of development. This next week I'll share a few articles about key design principles that I think gamers and developers may be interested in.
