Daily blog - lighting system nearly done

It's taken quite a bit more work than I expected thanks to the peculiarities of render textures and alpha blending, but the mechanics of my light system are in place and I think the game is a lot better for it.

I have some tuning and tweaking to do, softening the effect with a bit of blur, and then seeing what performance is like on mobile. It'll be there as an option though, so lower spec machines can switch it off and the game will play the same.

With this important visual upgrade in place, I can get back to refining gameplay and perfecting the alpha. Public alpha will definitely launch end of this month. Just don't ask how late it is!
